Week 3 results

Well the streak is still alive, I think. At least for this year so far. Tough to hit your 10 pointer on Thursday and win the week. Not sure why.

At any rate, this weeks winner is the first to land in the 50's. It's been a quiet start to the season, but things have heated up.

Taking 1st place with a great score of 52 was AdriaNNa with two N's. Her first 1st since Week 2 of the 2021 season. She was almost our first perfect score too, but Cleveland had other plans. Just one point off the pace with a great score also is Brian F with 51. A nice start for him after a soft 2022. 3rd place went to Carson with a really strong score of 49, and 4th place was a tie at 47 between Chon and Rory, the only one to get something out of his Thursday 10 pointer. Honorable mention went to Chric C, Mike L and Ruben all just one point out. CONGRATS TO THE WINNERS!

In the overall points race, Sister Joy stays in 1st for another week, and has the lead all to herself. Brian F moves into the top group in 2nd via his strong week 2 showing. Big T drops two spots to 3rd. Rick moves up one to take over 4th, and Jared is joined by Chon and Terence the V in 5th. Just off the pace is AdriaNa with one N.

OK, this is the last week that anyone can get in the pool, so if you have anyone sitting the fence, give them a push. After this week, we be closed!

Just a reminder Roger, Atlanta @ JACKSONVILLE is an early game in London on Sunday morning, so get your 10 pointer in before 6:30.

The pick sheet will be out and spreads set in a few hours.

Week 2 results

Well I think the challenge has been accepted!

Taking 1st place this week with a Big 47, in only his second week in the TWFP, Big T left no doubt he wants to land in the top five and keep his handle. After the Saints covered their game, it was his to sit back and watch to see who would come in second. And that was Pam also with a good score of 45 taking 2nd place. We had a tie for 3rd with 42 between Jim K and Roger, and a tie for 5th between Mrs Roger, Adriana, and Rick both with 40. Honorable mention went to Jared M and Sister Joy just a point off the pace at 39. CONGRATS TO THE WINNERS!

In the overall points race to be crowned Champion of THE Weekly Football Pool 2023 and take home a nice trophy and a nice load of ca$hi$h, Big T and Sister Joy take the early lead, followed by Pam in 3rd, Adriana in 4th and Jared and Rick in a tie for 5th. Just off the pace is Brother Leo.

Just an FYI, the weekly winners have been paid already, and the other placements will go out after Week 4 and we know the total amount of entrants.

So this week we have two MNF games again with Philly at Tampa Bay and the Rams at Cincy. And just an early heads up, in Week 4 there is a game in London that will lock at 6:30 Sunday morning. Plan accordingly.

And the usual reminder, people can still get it the pool up to Week 4, in case there's anyone sitting the fence Gary M and Mark P. After that, the pool will be closed.

Alrighty then, the pick sheet will out in the morning.

Week 1 results

And just like that Week 1 is done and on the books.

A lot of surprises in the first week, but not to our winner. She's had one win every year since she's been in the pool since 2018, two in 2021, and she won it all in 2019. And it looks like we have our first Family affair with the Torres/Thacker clan going 1-2-3.

So keeping with her winning ways and off to a great start, Jocelyn takes the first 1st place of 2023 with a good score of 43. In 2nd place is her son Jared just a point off the pace at 42 and 3rd went to Sister Joy with 40. Does anyone have the number of their bookie? Taking 4th place and off to a good start also is our 2022 Champion Steve F with 38. And in his first week of the pool, one of our rookies Efrain takes 5th with 37. Honorable mention goes to Chris M. CONGRATS TO ALL THE WINNERS!

So a little catching up to do with greetings, let's all welcome back to the pool one of our recruiters Romy, and to our very own 007, James B(ond). And an official welcome to Phat and Big T(Cliff). When he told me he wanted to be "Big T", I wasn't sure about it since we all just use our names and not pseudonyms like the public leagues and such. So here's the challenge, if he finishes in the top five this year, he gets to keep Big T and will be our first and only. Is that fair?

Just a reminder, we allow people to get in the pool up until Week 4. They still have to pay the full $125 and they get the average score for the three weeks they weren't in to keep them in the running for the overall. Some of us would be happy to take that deal after week one. SO, if you have anyone else that wants IN, have them email me and say the two magic words, I'M IN!

Alrighty then, the pick sheet will be out tomorrow.
