In Week 8 we saw the return of Bruin Bill to the winners circle with 49 points. After being shut out in 2022, he finally gets that monkey off his back. It's his first, 1st place since tying with Gary T in Week 5 of 2021, and first mention since Week 17 of that year. And coming in 2nd with his best score so in 2023 far was Yours Truly with 45. Maybe a little N.O. carry over luck for me too. Taking 3rd place just a point behind was our Week 5 winner Eric B getting his second mention this year. 4th place only one point behind him was David K landing in the ca$hi$h for the second time. And 5th place was a tie between Jared L and Richard with 41. Honorable mention went to Chris M.

For the third week in a row, Sister Joy remained at the top the leader board in the overall points race. Victor and Rick stayed at second and third for another week. And Jared got back in the pack joining Jared L in fifth. Just off the pace was Frank.

Alrighty then, that brings us to Week 9 and our winner is long time player Doodles with a great score of 51! It's her second mention of the year and first, 1st place since Week 14 of the 2020 season. The drought is officially over in the High Desert! Taking 2nd place also with a great score was Craig with 50 points, getting his third mention so far and probably not the last we'll hear from him. 3rd place went to Jeremy just a couple of points behind at 48. His second time in the ca$hi$h and not his last for sure. He's quietly done very well every year since he joined TWFP in 2018. We have a tie for 4th between David R and Jim K with 47. Honorable mention goes to Rick just a point out.

And in the overall points race to be crowned Champion of 2023 and recipient of the coveted winners trophy, drumroll please...................

We have a new leader at the top...........................Victor takes over the lead after Week 9! Sister Joy had the reigns for three weeks and drops one spot to second. Rick moves down one to third. After being close on a few occasions, Julian joins the top group in fourth and Jared stays in fifth. Just off the pace is Jim K.

Better Nate than lever..................I'm still feeling the effects of a 7 days in New Orleans.

In Week 6 we had our first three-way tie of the season between Craig, and brothers Richard and Roger all with 44. It was a see saw battle on MNF, and it looked like Craig would have it all to himself. But the Chargers defense couldn't hold off Dallas and we ended up with the tie. And for 4th place just a point off from the winners, we had another tie between Efrain and Sister Joy with 43. Honorable mention went to Jared M who has been close to placing a few times.

In the over all points race, Joy took over the top spot by way of some good scores in 4 out of the 5 previous weeks. Jared M moved up to second. John dropped two spots out of the lead into third. Jared dropped one into fourth and Brian F went to fifth. Just off the pace was Julian.

Week 7 gave us another tie for 1st between Frank and Victor, both with 49, courtesy of the Commish making their picks for them. As per the "no player left behind" rule, they both get to keep their points, but no ca$hi$h will be transacted. 2nd place went to Jeremy with 39, 3rd to Steve F with 38, and putting a cherry on top of the week in N.O., Brother Leo took 4th with 36. 5th place went to Jake FSF with 33. Honorable mention went to Chon and Chris M.

In the overall race to be the champ of 2023, Joy stayed in the top spot for another week, but we had some changing of the guard in the other places with Victor moving into the top group in 2nd, Rick joining the pack in third. Jared M dropped two spots to fourth, and AdriaNa with one N took over fifth. Just off the pace after a six week run in the pack was Jared.

And just like that we are ¼ of the way through the season. Time flies when you're having fun.

This weeks winner can say he finally made it too! He had a good first year in 2021 when he ca$hed in four of the weeks, with a tie for first in Week 14. But last year he was shout out, so this has to feel like redemption.

Taking 1st place with a strong score of 47 is Neighbor Eric. We darn near had our first tie again, but the Raidas had other plans and weren't going to let the Packas get lucky like they did against da Saints last week. It was almost DeJa Vu when the ball hit the goal post. In 2nd place one point behind him is long time player Randi. She was also shut out last year, so it's gotta feel good to get back in the ca$hi$h for a change. 3rd place and just a point behind is John with 45. That's his second mention of the year and makes two weeks in a row that he's in the honey. 4th place went to Doodles with 43 and 5th to David K with 42, their first time placing this year. Honorable mention goes to James B, Jared L, Mike M and Rory, all just a point out at 41. CONGRATS TO THE WINNERS!

Drum roll please........................In the overall points race, we have another lead change. Taking over the top spot by way of his two strong weeks, John takes over the top spot! Sister Joy moves up one to grab second from Brian F, who drops down one into third with Jared and Jared M respectfully. Just off the pace is last weeks leader Rick.

Okay, this week we have another Bloody Mary/English bowl from London, where they have to sit and listen to a song about getting their butts kick 247 years ago before they will even start the game.lol Baltimore and Tennessee should be a real barn burner so be sure and get your pick in for that one.DOH!
