Week 2 results

Okay then,

Week 2 is history..................

Taking 1st place this week with a really good score of 47 is last years runner up for the title, Victor. He had it wrapped up after Sunday night, so he got to sit back and see who would come in 2nd thru 5th. And that was Jared M with 45 who came out of left field with his 9 pointer and leap frogged everybody into 2nd. Taking 3rd with 41 was our webmaster Steven. 4th place went to first year player Richard L with 39, and 5th went to one of our founding members Mike H with 33. Honorable mention goes to Randi just a point off the pace at 32. CONGRATS TO THE WINNERS!

In the overall points race to be crowned Champion of THE Weekly Football Pool 2024, taking the early lead we have a tie between Jared M and Victor. 3rd is also a tie between Adrianna with two N's and Maxx with two XX's. And all alone in 5th is Randy with a Y. Just off the pace is David R and Jim K.

This week we have two MNF games with Jax @ Buffalo and Washington @ Cincy.

And the usual reminder, people can still get it the pool up to Week 4, in case there's anyone sitting the fence. After that, the pool will be closed.

Alrighty, the spreads will be set and the pick sheet sent out in the morning.

Thursday night prognosticating

Okay, My Thursday game pick is Buffalo for 5.

I don't usually send out Thursday emails except for my pick if I'm playing the game. I didn't want to make the Week 1 recap too long, but there's a few more things to mention.

Let's all welcome to two newest players to jump in the pool, James C and Richard L. And as is the custom, thanks for your donation.

We have 67-69 entries this year, I'm still waiting to see if two of them are going to stick. If they are not participating by this Sunday, the lines (read) the lines

The pool is still open to new entries until Week 4. After that, it's closed and the 2-5 payouts will be determined. 1st place gets 125 marbles a week.

So if you have anyone else that wants to get in, or return, tell them to send me an email. They still have to pay the full $125 and they get the average score for the three weeks they weren't in to keep them in the running for the overall. Some of us would be happy to take that deal after week one. SO, if you have anyone else that wants IN, have them email me and say the two magic words, I'M IN!

Alright, second place luck to everyone and remember, if you want to win, you gotta Pick Em Good!

Week 1 results

Alrighty then,

Week 1 is done and on the books. And right out of the gate we have a perfect score of 55 to start the 2024 season. And we had four other people going 9 of 10 with a chance to have a perfect score. To put it into perspective, we did not have anyone score 55 in 2023.

Taking 1st place with that perfect score is our 2016 Champions, the husband and wife team of Christina & Todd. This is their first time in the ca$hi$h since tying for first in Week 14 of the 2021 season. And they did it picking their favorite team the 49ers as their 10 pointer on Monday night to do it. WooHoo! Finally the the drought is over and maybe the table is set for a good run this year.

Taking 2nd with a near perfect score of 54 is our most recent entry into the pool, James C, literally getting in about 30 minutes before the early games started on Sunday. It looked like he was going to be the Week 1 winner, but there was still that pesky MNF game to play. And as it happens often in TWFP, someone comes out of nowhere and steals the glory. At any rate, he's off to a great start in TWFP.

Just a point off the pace taking 3rd place with another great score of 53 is Chris C. Another one ending a drought, it's his first time in the ca$hi$h since Week 15 of the 2021 season. And just one point behind him in 4th was Carson with another near perfect score of 52. Just amazing that the top four were that close.

In 5th place we have a three way tie between Adrianna with two N's, 9 of 10 too Jim K, and another of our first year players Maxx all with 49. A score good enough to win most weeks in TWFP, just not this one.

Honorable mention goes to Adriana with one N, Doodles, Randy and Rudy all with 48. CONGRATS TO ALL THE WINNERS!

And kudos to Doodles for giving me the heads up on the Philly and GB score. Sometimes the site gives both teams the win and I have to go in and fix it manually. So if you had Green Bay, but your score dropped today, that's why.

Alright, the spreads will be set and the pick sheet emailed out on Wednesday morning.
