Okay then,

A few thoughts come to mind, the movie "It's Complicated", the RUN DMC song "It's Tricky", and the famous quote from the movie Cool Hand Luke, "What we have here is failure to communicate".

No NFL weekend is complete without questionable calls, missed calls, conspiracy theories and a bunch more stuff thrown in. This weeks games did not disappoint that's for sure, and TWFP is in the mix as well.

We had Sixteen people get all four games correct with a score of 34 points. Normally this would be a simple call to make and the placements would be awarded. However, only Five of those people put in their own picks and sent me their tie breaker, so the refs have thrown a flag. And after further review, and in fairness to those Five people, here are the results for this week. The total points of all four games combined was 191. Down from 215 last year.

Getting 1st place for the first time since joining the pool in 2020, with his closest to tie breaker of 182 is Jim K! That makes it two weeks in a row he's landed in the ca$hiSh, and four out of the last seven. 2nd place goes to Theresa with her t/b of 180. In 3rd is Yours Truly and my t/b of 179. 4th place is Kevin Q at 173, and 5th is our webmeister Steven with 172. CONGRATS TO THE WINNERS!

And so it comes down to the final week of the season again to determine who wins it all. In the overall race to be crowned Champion of TWFP 2025, win a load of ca$hi$h and most importantly get the coveted CHAMPS trophy, AdriaNNa retains 1st place for another week. Jim K and Jeremy DDS swapped spots in 2nd and 3rd. Terence V remains in 4th and Steven moves back into the top group in 5th. Just off the pace and with a chance to land in the top five are Carson, Sean, Kevin Q, Leo, David R, Richard L and Jake FSF. The rest of us will be playing for the weekly ca$hiSh.

With only two games and 19 points to score in the final week, the tie breaker will be critical. Be sure to sharpen those pencils and Pick Em Good!

And since both games are being played on Sunday, the pick sheet will be out Friday morning to give us the most accurate spreads.

Taking 1st place this week with a perfect score of 45, and the only one to get all six games correct, is Anna of Waterbury! This is her first time landing in the ca$hi$h this season and first, 1st place since the Conference week of 2016. Whew! It was tough for her to pick the Patriots I'm sure as she is a die hard N.Y. GIINTS fan.(The whole Eli vs Brady thing) But I think she's happy with them today.

Taking 2nd place with 40 is Jerry getting his fourth mention of the season and putting him in the black for the year. In 3rd place by way of his 39 points and closest tie breaker of 275 is Maxx. 4th place with 39 and a T/B of 261 is Jim K. And 5th place with 38 and his T/B of 275 is Jose C. Honorable mention goes to Christina & Todd and Richard L.

In the overall race to be crowned Champion of TWFP and get that coveted trophy to go on the mantle with all of life's other great accomplishments, AdriaNNa keeps a tight grip on 1st place for another week. And following suit, Jeremy also keeps his grip in 2nd place for another week. Jim K and Terence V trade places in 3rd and 4th, and Kris remains in 5th. Just off the pace is Sean.

Okay next week is the Divisional Playoffs and we only have four games, two on Saturday and two on Sunday. I will set the spreads and send out the pick sheet early on Thursday to give everyone enough time to make picks and SEND ME YOUR TIE BREAKER BY KICKOFF of the first Saturday game.

Getting back on track here, this weeks winner was none other than the birthday boy, my big brother Leo J. Eiffert Jr. aka Swampwater Fox aka Uncle Leo aka "Lee F****N O", a nick name given to him by his late great friend Toby Keith. He turned 80 yesterday, and he took 1st place going away with a near perfect score of 52. He was the winner no matter which way the Sunday night game ended up. Here's a pic of him entertaining the crowd Sunday at his birthday jam session in Apple Valley at Buckeye Jack's Saloon(photo). Taking 2nd place with a real good score of 47 is this years star so far, carrying the chick power torch, AndriaNNa with two N's. 3rd place went to Yours Truly with 44, probably because of my type-O of the KC spread on the website, making it easy for me to pick a 10 point game. The Raiders still almost did me in. 4th place went to Terence V just a point behind with 43 and in 5th place was Jeremy at 41. Honorable mention went to Chris M and Todd. CONGRATS TO THE WINNERS!

In the overall points race to win the coveted trophy and be crowned Champion of TWFP for 2025, Adrianna remains in 1st place for three weeks running. Jeremy stays in second, also for three weeks running after taking the top spot in Week 15. Terence V gets back into the lead group to 3rd. Jim K holds onto 4th, and Kris drops two spots to 5th. Just off the pace is Jake FSF.

Okay, so this coming week is the Wild Card Playoffs where we only have six games to chose from. The point values will be 10-9-8-7-6 and 5. MAKE SURE YOU ASSIGN THE CORRECT POINTS TO YOUR GAMES. Do not use 4-3-2 and 1 even though the website says to.

And, we have the all important Tie Breaker in play which is, THE TOTAL POINTS COMBINED OF ALL SIX GAMES. Consult your bookie if you're not sure what that is. You have to have the highest score, and the closest guess to the total points to win the weekly ca$hi$h. Veterans please help the newbies. The spreads and pick sheet will be out on Thursday morning

Also, the BcS championship college bowl pool starts Thursday night, so let me know if you're IN and send me you pick for national champion and tie breaker asap.
