Alrighty then, now that the 14 days to flatten the curve have passed, ahem, ............................... it's time for TWFP 2021!

THE season starts one week from tonight, Thursday September 9th with the Dallas Cowhands at the Tom Brady Buccaneers.

The website is ready to go. The Week 1 games are listed, but there's no spreads yet. I will set them on Tuesday morning. Who knows what might change between now and then with the games, so it's probably best to wait.

Everyone should try to log on. theweeklyfootballpool.com Your login and password are: your name and zip code. If you have any trouble, let me know and I will reset it.
If you haven't done so yet and want to stay in the pool, or a prior player and want to get back in, send me an email saying I'M IN.

If you have any new people that want to get in, forward this email to them and tell them to send an email to [email protected] saying who they are and that they want IN!

If you are undecided and change your mind, you can still join up until Week 4. See the rules for details. I will take your name off the email list once the season starts.

Hey Football Gang,

Getting this out late this year, but not as late as year. It looks like there is going to be a football season again, so we will have a football pool too.

THE website is not up and running yet so please wait until I give the all clear to test your log in, etc. Should be by this coming weekend.

Alrighty then,

THE Weekly Football Pool is a wrap for 2020. With everything that has gone on this season, and continues to impede life in these United States, as The Grateful Dead once sang, What a Long Strange Trip it's Been!

This year only four people picked both games correctly. Last year we had twenty people get them both right. A lot of action was riding on Green Bay as a favorite and Buffalo as an underdog this year.

Total points scored were 119, 3 more than last year, 13 more than the the O/U line.

So.............Taking 1st place with the closest tie breaker of 102 was Todd S. His last first place was the WCP week of season 2018, so he can rest easy now, the drought is over.lol 2nd place was a tie at 97 between Sam K who has had a good year, and Larry A who waited till the last week to get on the board. Just a point off with 96 and taking 4th was Roger G, his first mention of the year also. The consolation prize goes to everybody who scored 10 points, too many to mention. CONGRATS TO THE WINNERS!

Drum roll please............................

With the most total overall points of 603, and crowned the Champion of THE Weekly Football Pool 2020 is Mike M!

He was in the top group most of the year and after taking over the top spot in week 17, didn't let up and rode 1st place to the finish. This is his second time in three years winning the title as he was also our Champion in the 2018 season.

Taking 2nd place is Cris E who put up a good fight till the end but couldn't quite close that gap. 3rd goes to AdriaNNa who had the top spot for eight weeks in a row but slipped a little in the last few weeks.

4th place is a tie between Sam K and Timmy from Las Vegas who were both in and out the top group all season. This years honorable mention goes to Steve F, who was right there most of the way.

AND, for the first time ever, we are awarding a ca$hi$h boobie prize to the person who took last place. And in the inaugural year of the award, that honor goes to Chon D. CONGRATS AGAIN TO ALL THE 2020 WINNERS!!!!!

I hope everyone had a good time. Let's hope things are closer to normal in 2021 and we can all enjoy football without politics and egos mucking things up for us. Good to job everyone for getting yours picks in and making it easy on the Commish. And as always, a YUGE thanks to my son Steven for maintaining the website and keeping things running.

Enjoy the big game in two weeks. I will be doing a side pool for the Stuper Bowl like we did a few years ago. A seperate email will be sent out for that.

And I predict again this year, the red team will win the Big Game.
